Chin Cactus 'Dwarf Barrel'

Gymnocalycium bruchii

Various Sized Plants (Cold Hardy -20F!)

This adorable cactus is a native to South America where in parts of Argentina it tolerates very cold temps in the winter and very hot temps in the summer. A true pleasure to look at and easy to grow, with a small footprint, perfect for tight areas around walkways, patios, etc. Forming tight globes (or barrels), this variety of cactus will produce a beautiful clump quickly, reaching 6-12" wide and 4-6" tall. One of the hardiest cacti we grow other than Prickly Pears, this cactus is perfect for USDA zones 5-10. Plants will generally produce rich, dark green/almost blue colorations with shorter and compact spines that can be touched, making for easy handling!

These plants have been growing in our cold high desert climate for many years on our personal property near Bend, Oregon and have seen temperatures well below -10F!! Very hardy and easy to grow, moderate to fast growers, you will have a full plant in just two or three seasons!

Monthly deep watering from spring through fall will enhance its spring flowering cycle and help maintain good character. This is a must have for any serious desert or xeriscape gardener!
