Nannorhops ritchiana 'Oregon Mazari Palm' Seeds
Oregon Hardy Mazari Palm Seeds
One of a kind EXCLUSIVE seeds sourced directly from our high desert Mazari palms growing in central Oregon! Nannorhops ritchiana, native to the middle east high desert regions where below freezing temps and snowfall is routinely seen each winter, makes this palm one of the world's most cold hardy, especially if kept on the drier side during winter. This tree is also unique in the fact that it can eventually grow multiple crowns (above ground) much like a yucca, reaching heights of 10 to 20+ feet, depending on climate conditions. It is a slow to moderate grower, but much worth the wait, and has performed incredibly well in our cold high desert climate in Oregon! It is hardy to at least USDA zone 6b, and parent trees have seen temperatures below -7F for short periods! The parent trees usually suffer some outer frond damage but they rebound quickly in spring and look amazing by summer. These seeds grow into plants that would make excellent additions to your hardy exotic collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard.
