Zion Prickly Pear Cactus 'Grand Canyon' (Opuntia dulcis x) is a rare prickly pear cactus growing near the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona and southern Utah. It is a unique variety that has a symmetrical, upright and wide growing habit, extra large pads, and springtime blooms that display beautiful large bright yellow flowers (with deep reddish/pink inside)! This is one of the larger variety of opuntia we grow and has been growing completely unprotected for many years in the cold high desert region of central Oregon, zone 6b, repeatedly seeing temps below zero degrees F!
These have been planted as far north as Canada surviving temps below -20 degrees F!! Planting instructions are included!
