Silver/Golden Cholla Cactus 'Oregon Haze'
Cylindropuntia echinocarpa x
Live Cutting (4"-6" stem) or Small Plant (4" pot) - Cold Hardy -20F!
Silver/Golden Cholla Cactus 'Oregon Haze' (Cylindropuntia echinocarpa) is an EXCLUSIVE hybrid cholla cactus growing in the high desert region of central Oregon. It is a unique hybrid that we think is a cross of two sub types of C. echinocarpa (perhaps 'Silver Fox' and 'Golden'), it is has an upright and wide growing habit, and larger than average stems, eventually reaching 6-9 feet tall or larger! This is the second largest cold hardy variety of Cholla cactus we sell and has been growing completely unprotected for decades in the cold high desert region of central Oregon, zone 6, repeatedly seeing temps below zero degrees F! These have been planted as far north as Canada surviving temps below -15 degrees!
